doChipIn ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our service.

We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, profile picture, and expense data you enter. We also collect usage data such as device information, IP addresses, and interaction logs to improve the service.

Your data is used to provide and improve the doChipIn service, process expenses and settlements, send transactional emails (verification, password reset), and display balances between you and your friends or groups.

We do not sell your personal data. Expense data is shared only with the participants you explicitly add to an expense or group. We may share aggregate, anonymised statistics for product improvement purposes.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support. Deleted data is purged within 30 days.

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, bcrypt for passwords) and access controls. However, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password.
