About doChipIn

doChipIn is a smart, collaborative expense-splitting platform. Whether you are splitting a dinner bill, a group vacation, or monthly household costs, doChipIn keeps everyone on the same page and makes settling up simple.

Money should never get in the way of relationships. Our mission is to remove the friction from shared finances so you can focus on the experiences — not the spreadsheets.

Flexible split modes (equal, exact, percentage, itemised), multi-currency support with live FX rates, friend and group balances, settlement tracking, activity feeds, and AI-powered expense capture (coming soon).

doChipIn is built on a NestJS backend with PostgreSQL and Redis, a Next.js web app, and an Expo mobile app — all in a TypeScript monorepo powered by pnpm workspaces and Turborepo.

Phase 1 (now): Manual expense entry and settling. Phase 2: AI-powered receipt capture and natural-language expense parsing. Phase 3: Contextual suggestions and UPI payment integration.
